Australia have named three uncapped players in their squads for upcoming white-ball tours of Pakistan and Bangladesh as selectors begin testing new talent ahead of future ICC tournaments.

All-rounder Liam Scott has earned selection in Australia’s ODI squads for both tours, while young Victoria batter Ollie Peake has been picked for the Pakistan leg of the series. T20 specialist Joel Davies has also received his maiden call-up for the three-match T20I series in Bangladesh, scheduled to begin in Chattogram on June 17.

Cricket Australia is using the subcontinent assignments to assess emerging talent and build squad depth as several senior players are rested under workload management plans.

Chief selector George Bailey said the tours would provide valuable exposure for rising players in challenging Asian conditions.

“It’s always exciting to see new players get an opportunity to play international cricket,” Bailey said while announcing the squads.

Peake, regarded as one of Australia’s brightest batting prospects, recently impressed during youth-level international tournaments, while Scott’s domestic all-round performances strengthened his case for selection. Davies has meanwhile developed a reputation as an aggressive T20 specialist capable of contributing with both bat and ball.

Australia are scheduled to play limited-overs matches in Rawalpindi and Lahore before travelling to Bangladesh for ODI and T20I fixtures later in June.
