WASHINGTON: The Pakistani Consulate in Los Angeles has issued a warning over fake visa notices circulating online, targeting Pakistani visa applicants in the United States. Officials confirmed the message is fraudulent and part of a phishing scam aimed at stealing personal and financial information.
The Pakistan Embassy in Washington clarified that visa applications must be submitted only through the official NADRA portal, warning applicants to avoid unauthorised agents, intermediaries, and fake websites. The scam messages falsely claim to be official and seek sensitive data such as passport details, social security numbers, and bank information.
Authorities urged applicants to verify all visa-related information through official consulate websites, report suspicious messages, and remain cautious amid a global rise in online fraud and phishing attacks.
