RAWALPINDI – Pakistan's military says security forces have intensified counterterrorism operations across Balochistan following a series of deadly terrorist attacks that have claimed the lives of civilians and security personnel. During a media briefing on Wednesday, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said 54 terrorists had been eliminated since July 5, while 42 civilians, police officers, and security personnel embraced martyrdom during terrorist attacks and subsequent security operations.

According to the ISPR, the casualties include:

  • 4 civilians
  • 27 police personnel
  • 11 members of the security forces

The military described the operations as part of an intensified campaign aimed at dismantling terrorist networks responsible for recent attacks across the province.

Security Forces Intensify Counterterrorism Operations

According to Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, intelligence-based and clearance operations have been conducted in close coordination with law enforcement agencies following the recent surge in terrorist violence.

The ISPR said 54 terrorists were killed during these operations, adding that security forces remain committed to pursuing militant groups wherever intelligence identifies their presence.

Military officials emphasized that counterterrorism operations are continuing across affected areas to prevent further attacks and restore stability.

Heavy Sacrifices in the Fight Against Terrorism

The ISPR paid tribute to the civilians, police personnel, and members of the armed forces who lost their lives during the recent violence.

Officials said their sacrifices reflect the determination of Pakistan's security institutions to confront terrorism despite increasingly complex security challenges.

The military reiterated that the campaign against terrorism would continue until militant networks responsible for attacks on civilians and security personnel are dismantled.

Balochistan Remains a Security Challenge

Balochistan has experienced repeated militant attacks in recent years targeting civilians, police, security forces, and critical infrastructure.

Authorities say terrorist organizations continue attempting to destabilize the province through coordinated attacks, making counterterrorism operations a key national security priority.

Security analysts note that the province's strategic location and complex security environment require sustained cooperation between the military, police, intelligence agencies, and civil administration.

What Happens Next

According to the ISPR, security operations are expected to continue across affected districts as intelligence agencies pursue those responsible for recent attacks.

Authorities have also strengthened security measures in vulnerable areas while investigations into recent incidents remain ongoing.

Officials say efforts will continue to ensure those involved in acts of terrorism are brought to justice.

Why It Matters

The latest figures released by the ISPR underscore both the continuing security challenges in Balochistan and the significant sacrifices made by civilians, police officers, and members of Pakistan's armed forces. The effectiveness of ongoing counterterrorism operations will remain critical to improving security, protecting local communities, and preventing future attacks in one of Pakistan's most strategically important provinces.
