Karachi Murder Case: Prime Suspect Arrested After Confessing to Killing Woman and Three Children, Police Say

Police have arrested the prime suspect in a high-profile Karachi murder case involving a woman and her three children whose bodies were discovered earlier this week near Mai Kolachi Road, authorities confirmed on Sunday.

According to police officials, the victims’ bodies were recovered on Friday night from a pit located within the jurisdiction of the Docks police station. Investigators believe the killings occurred at another location and that the bodies were later disposed of at the site.

A statement issued by the office of Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar said the suspect was apprehended by Keamari police and had confessed during interrogation.

Digital Evidence Links Suspect to Victim

South Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Asad Raza told Dawn that digital forensic analysis of the deceased woman’s mobile phone showed she had been in contact with the suspect prior to the incident.

“He wanted to get rid of her,” the DIG said, adding that the investigation had established a direct connection between the suspect and the victim.

Police also released a video statement of the suspect, in which he claimed to have known the woman for a long time and described personal disputes between them. Authorities emphasized that all claims made by the suspect are being independently verified as part of the investigation.

Children Also Killed, Police Say

Police stated that after the woman was killed, the suspect allegedly took her three children from a relative’s house and later disposed of their bodies at the same location. Investigators believe the children were targeted to eliminate witnesses.

FIR Registered

On Saturday, Docks police registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Section 302 (murder) and Section 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code against unidentified individuals. The case was registered on behalf of the state by police officer Mohammed Azhar.

The FIR notes that evidence suggests the victims were killed elsewhere before their bodies were dumped in a disused pit.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and further arrests have not been ruled out.
