A man was shot dead in Laç, Albania, on Wednesday night, prompting police to launch a large-scale investigation and search operation to identify and arrest those responsible.

According to Albanian police, the victim was identified as Ilir Gjini, approximately 40 years old, who was also known by the aliases Lika, Kokaj and Nure. Authorities said the shooting occurred at around 10:10 p.m. in the Municipality of Kurbin.

Emergency responders rushed the victim to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, but he died from his injuries while being transported for emergency medical treatment.
