Christmas Day Shooting in Sheffield: 20-Year-Old Man Critically Injured, Four Arrested
A 20-year-old man is in critical, life-threatening condition in hospital after being shot in the chest on Christmas Day in Sheffield.
The shooting occurred at Wilfred Drive, Darnall, at 11:27 PM, prompting an immediate response from emergency services. The man remains hospitalized as police continue their investigation.
Four men, aged 20, 22, 28, and 29, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and are currently in police custody.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson urged anyone with information, including CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward to assist with the investigation.
Chief Inspector Andy Knowles described the attack as “an abhorrent incident leaving a man fighting for his life,” emphasizing that gun crime is a serious threat to the safety of the community and will not be tolerated.
He added: “We are committed to tackling gun violence and illegal firearms in our community, but we need the support of residents to bring offenders to justice.”
Police continue to patrol the area and encourage anyone with relevant information to assist authorities.
