Misbah Arshad has been crowned Miss Universe Pakistan, becoming the fourth Pakistani to represent the country at the Miss Universe competition.
Arshad was crowned during a ceremony in the Philippines, where Miss Universe Pakistan franchise owner Josh Yugen presented her with the sash and her predecessor, Roma Riaz, placed the crown on her head. The organisation also shared a video of the ceremony on social media.
A psychology student, Arshad has previous international pageant experience. She represented Pakistan at the Miss International 2023 competition in Japan and the Miss Supranational 2024 competition in Poland.
She will now travel to Puerto Rico to represent Pakistan at the 75th edition of Miss Universe.
During the selection process, Arshad was asked how she would respond to questions from her 10-year-old and 80-year-old selves.
Reflecting on her journey, she spoke about embracing life, learning from setbacks and continuing to move forward despite failures.
Arshad also discussed the symbolism behind her coronation gown. She said the white colour represented hope, while the royal blue crystal detailing represented education and knowledge.
Her selection adds another chapter to Pakistan's participation in the Miss Universe competition and puts the spotlight on a Pakistani representative ahead of this year's international pageant.
