Pakistan and Kuwait have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their long-standing defence partnership, with senior officials from both countries discussing regional security and ways to expand bilateral defence cooperation during high-level talks in Rawalpindi.
A Kuwaiti delegation led by Defence Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Saleem Al-Sabah met Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ), according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The delegation also included Kuwait's Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lt Gen Khaled Darj Saad Al-Shriaan.
Regional security and defence cooperation
The meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, regional security and bilateral defence cooperation, ISPR said.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening institutional ties and expanding defence collaboration for the mutual benefit of Pakistan and Kuwait.
The two countries also discussed their shared interest in contributing to regional peace and stability amid continuing security challenges across the Gulf and wider Middle East.
Kuwait praises Pakistan Armed Forces
According to ISPR, the Kuwaiti delegation appreciated the professionalism and operational excellence of the Pakistan Armed Forces, as well as their contributions to regional peace and stability.
The remarks came as military and diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and Kuwait has increased in recent months.

Kuwait ratifies defence cooperation agreement

During his visit, the Kuwaiti foreign minister met Field Marshal Asim Munir and discussed regional security and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
He also called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his Pakistani counterpart, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
