Two FC Personnel Found Dead in Bannu After Going Missing | ChatZyr

BANNU: Two Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel who went missing in Bannu have been found dead, with their bodies recovered from Kamali graveyard in Palosi, according to Rescue 1122 and local sources.

The deceased were identified as Havaldar Ishaq and Sepoy Umar Hayat, both members of Platoon No. 59.

The two personnel went missing on Sunday evening from the Sifan Kozi Khel area of Kurram Garhi, within the jurisdiction of Bannu Cantonment Police Station. Police subsequently launched an investigation into their disappearance.

Search Ends With Recovery of Bodies

Following their disappearance, security was tightened in the surrounding area and a search operation was launched to locate the missing personnel.

Their bodies were later recovered from Kamali graveyard in Palosi.

Local sources said the two personnel were allegedly taken away by unidentified armed men. However, the identities of those responsible and the precise circumstances surrounding their deaths had not been officially established at the time of reporting.

Authorities were continuing their investigation.

Bannu Under Continued Security Pressure

The incident comes amid continued security concerns in Bannu and other parts of southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The area has experienced repeated militant violence in recent years, while security forces and law-enforcement agencies have continued operations aimed at preventing further attacks.

Militant Attacks Increased in Mainland KP

The incident also comes as the frequency of militant attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa increased during August.

According to the latest monthly data from the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), mainland KP, excluding the province's merged districts, recorded 54 militant attacks in August, compared with 36 in July.

That represented a 50 per cent increase in attacks.

However, the number of deaths resulting from militant attacks declined from 69 in July to 44 in August, while injuries fell from 96 to 70, a decrease of 27 per cent.

The figures show a mixed security picture: attacks became more frequent in mainland KP, but the number of people killed and injured in those attacks declined during the same period.

Investigation Continues

The recovery of the two personnel has now shifted the investigation toward establishing what happened after their disappearance, who was responsible and how they were killed.

No group had been independently established as responsible for the deaths in the initial reporting.

Security authorities were continuing their investigation while maintaining heightened security in the area.
