Islamabad recorded 62 reported crime incidents in one week, including vehicle theft, street crime, robbery and dacoity, highlighting continuing public-safety concerns in Pakistan’s federal capital.

According to a report published by Business Recorder on October 25, the incidents included 33 vehicle theft cases, 11 street-crime incidents involving mobile phones and cash, 14 robberies and one dacoity.

Motorcycles accounted for most of the reported vehicle thefts. Of the 33 cases, 30 involved motorcycles and three involved cars.

The report identified the jurisdictions of Khanna, Noon, Shehzad Town, Industrial Area, Shalimar, Ramana, Karachi Company and Kohsar among the areas where cases were reported during the week.

The reporting period also included a fatal shooting at G-12 Suzuki Stop. Initial investigative information cited in the report alleged that the incident followed a domestic dispute. Such allegations should be treated as claims under investigation unless confirmed through an official finding.

Why the figures matter

The weekly figures offer a snapshot of reported crime, not necessarily the full extent of criminal activity across Islamabad. They nevertheless underline why residents should remain attentive to their surroundings and take sensible precautions when parking vehicles or carrying valuable belongings.

Residents who experience theft, robbery or another crime should report it to the relevant authorities. Official updates and verified information remain important when assessing the city’s wider security situation.
